The Crime Branch of the Delhi Police has arrested two persons, including a constable, who were part of the State-wide racket of leaking question papers of a Railway Recruitment Board exam.
Additional Commissioner of Police (Crime) Ravindra Yadav said the arrested people have been identified as Constable Mohit Kumar, posted with Defence Colony Police station in South Delhi and Jai Kiran. “We had arrested six candidates, including accused Robin and Sunny in the case. On the instances of Robin and Sunny, we have arrested Mohit and Jai Karan,” he added.
Sunny told the police that he had received the answer keys from three numbers through SMS. “With the help of technical surveillances, we had traced the mobile number of Mohit, who disclosed that Pawan, a resident of UP’s Sinoli, used to run recruitment rackets in the State. Pawan had contacted Mohit and offered to provide answer keys of recruitment test for Constable in RPF conducted on June 30. He made a deal with Pawan worth Rs 3 lakh for providing the answer keys through SMS. He had paid Rs 50,000 as advance and later provided the answer keys to his brother Sunny,” Yadav said.
During interrogation, Jai said that he had indulged in providing the answer keys of various competitive examinations through his associate Vikas. Robin was appearing in the examination of Multi Tasking Staff (MTS) conducted by SSC and had approached the accused, Jai, who took Rs 70,000 from him, for arranging the answer keys of MTS exam. However, accused Jai Karan could not arrange the answer keys, but he later assured Robin that he will arrange for answer keys of the RPF exam as he had already paid a heavy amount to him earlier.
