The Delhi University announced to issue two more cut-off lists on Friday in order to fill the seats of reserved categories across the colleges for its Four-Year Undergraduate Programme. The last day of admission for the fifth cut off list is on Saturday. The sixth list has been scheduled to be out on July 15 and the admission under it would follow till July 17.
The seventh list has been scheduled to be released on July 18. The last date of the admission this would be July 20.
“In order to fill the vacant seats still available for the reserved categories, the colleges shall announce sixth and seventh admission list,” stated Alka Sharma, the Registrar of the university.
Due to the high cut-off, the colleges could not fill the seats of OBC and other reserved seats while as the admissions in general categories have over-filled this year.
Dean of Students' Welfare JM Khurana said that last year too the seats in these categories remained vacant as a result colleges had to come with a series of cut-off list and the number went up to 11.
Khurana underlined that the university has special provision for admission of the OBC candidates in which colleges give a relaxation of 10 per cent in the minimum eligibility marks of the said course and for SC and ST relaxation is given up to 5 per cent.
In case the seats remain vacant further relaxation would be given to fill up all the reserved seats for SC and ST under the reserved quota of 22.5 per cent.
