n In last 24 hours, two incident of sexual assault on minor girls were reported in national Capital. In the first incident, an eight-year-old girl was allegedly sexually assaulted by her relative in northwest Delhi’s Ashok Vihar area.
Police said accused Dharmendra (25), a resident of Darbhanga district in Bihar, has been arrested. He is a relative of the victim.
According to a senior police official, on Wednesday at 9.55 pm, police received information regarding the sexual assault on a minor girl in Ashok Vihar area.
“The victim was rushed to BJRM Hospital. A case under relevant IPC sections and 6 POCSO Act has been registered,” said the senior police official.
In the second incident, a 16-year-old girl was allegedly raped by her neighbour in southeast Delhi’s Sarai Kale Khan area.
Police said that the accused is also suspected to be a minor and police are verifying it. Police said that both are neighbors and known to each other for more than three years.
“The girl is fine. She had minor medical issues. The boy has been detained,” said the senior police official adding that further investigation is going on.
