Two men were found dead inside a plot under mysterious circumstances in North Delhi’s Burari area on Friday morning. The deceased have been identified as Shamsher Pal (46) and Manoj (48), residents of Baghpat.
According to police, the men had on Thursday night reached the Capital. Shamsher had come to visit his son’s father-in law Somveer who was staying opposite the plot they were found dead in. A PCR call was received around 10.30 am informing police about the two bodies found in Kamal Vihar Colony. A police team reached the location but the bodies could not be identified at first. Their throats were slit and the faces were partially disfigured with acid-like substance. An alarm was raised and the local people informed the police that the victims were seen drinking with Somveer late on Thursday night. The police reached Somveer’s residence and questioned him. The clothes of the deceased were also recovered from his house. Prima facie, it appears Somveer was not happy with the treatment meted out to his daughter and took this extreme step.
The bodies have been sent for post-mortem at Subzi Mandi mortuary. Somveer has been arrested by the police. A case of murder has been registered at Burari police station.
