New Delhi: Delhi Police has arrested two alleged habitual snatchers and burglars of the Maya gang, including one wanted in a case under the Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA), an official said on Monday.
The accused, identified as Mohammad Umar Ansari (23) and Sumit Beniwal (23), were arrested during patrolling in Madanpur Khadar on October 25, the officer said.
The duo was riding a motorcycle when police personnel signalled them to stop. The rider allegedly attempted to flee, but the motorcycle lost balance and skidded, following which both men were arrested.
Police said Ansari is a member of the Maya gang and was wanted in a MCOCA case registered in May this year.
