Two juveniles were detained for allegedly raping a six-year-old girl in northwest Delhi’s Swaroop Nagar area, police said on Sunday. The minor told her mother about her ordeal after she complained of pain in her private parts. Her mother approached police on Saturday, said a senior police officer.
The girl had been complaining about pain in her lower abdomen for a few days but the mother didn’t listen to her, said the police officer, adding that it needs to be determined whether the rape happened over a period of four to five days.
Two juveniles, aged 15 and 14, were detained after a medical examination confirmed rape, the officer said.
The girl’s family and the juveniles’ families are neighbours and work as labourers. The girl’s family trusted the two boys and would send their daughter for playing with them, he said.
