A day after a four-year-old boy went missing from Greater Noida's Dankaur's Mutaina village, his body was found in the backyard of his house on Wednesday morning, said police, adding that the accused Kavita and Pramod have been arrested.
The deceased identified as Prince, had left home on Tuesday morning but did not return. Police suspects that he may have been killed over a dispute with his uncle over a woman. Police said the father of the deceased informed them that his child was playing outside the house but he went missing.
After investigation, it was revealed that a woman and his male friend who lives in the same locality had allegedly abducted him and then strangled him to death. Police recovered the body on Wednesday after the accused, who was arrested by police , identified the spot where child was murdered. Police said the uncle of the deceased, Kuldeep, had an illicit relationship with the accused woman but she was also having relationship with the other accused Pramod.
“Kuldeep had beaten up Pramod two years ago over this matter. The accused Pramod had left the village and did not keep in touch with the woman, who used to force him to continue relationship,”.
Both had planned to kill the victim to avenge the old dispute, police said.
Superintendent of police, Greater Noida, Abhishek Singh said police have arrested the accused and they have confessed the crime. "The woman was detained first and she broke down after being questioned by police. The accused Pramod was later arrested. We are investigating the case," he said.
"We had earlier registered a missing complaint in this matter. But now, it had be transferred under section-364(abduction) and 302 (Murder) against the woman Kavita and Pramod of same locality," Singh said.
