A 19-year-old girl was found murdered inside a house in central Delhi’s Patel Nagar area on Wednesday.
The victim, Nikita, had sustained four stab injuries and her body was found inside the rented accommodation of a youth who has claimed he was not present in the house at the time of the incident, which came to light at around 8 PM.
Nikita’s identity was ascertained with the help of an identity card recovered from the room, police said.
Her parents were informed and the body was then sent for a post-mortem, police said.
“We have registered a case of murder and investigation is underway,” said DCP (Central) Parmaditya.
The youth in whose room the body was found has been detained for questioning.
