Swift action by Fire department saved lives of 18 children when fire broke out in their school bus on Wednesday after noon. The fire was caused due to short circuit in the bonnet. The fire tenders immediately reached the spot and controlled the fire after rescuing the children.
Police said that the incident took place around 2 pm when school bus of The Millenium School, located at Sector 41, was ferrying the children along the Noida-Greater Noida Expressway. When bus entered Sector 105 area, Jitendra, driver of the bus, realised that fire broke out in the bus and called police. The school authority and police officials reached the spot and students were sent to their homes. “As fire broke out due to short circuit, we are checking that whether bus was in condition to ply or not. We are also checking whether school authority had adopted adequate safety measures before running it,” said a senior police official of Noida Police.
