A minor girl was gang-raped by three youths in Ghaziabad. The incident occurred in the wee hours of Sunday when she came out to relieve herself in a common bathroom of her rented accommodation in Ghaziabad.
The police said the girl (14) residing with her parents in the rented accommodation in Hindon Vihar residential locality was over powered by three youth residing in the building.
They dragged her in to their room and gang-raped her. They then tried to kill her by strangulating. She was rescued by other flat mates who heard her cry. Two of the accused fled the spot while one of their accomplices was nabbed by the local residents. The neighbours informed the police that took the accused into police custody. The girl was taken to the Government MMG Hospital where her medical examination confirmed the rape.
“One person has been arrested while attempts are on to nab the remaining two accused. They have been booked under Sections 376 for rape and 307 of IPC for attempt to murder,” said SP City Shiv Shankar Yadav.
