In a shocking incident, a 14-year-old boy was allegedly shot and injured as he tried to resist a robbery in Delhi’s Rohini area on Thursday.

The child was accompanying his father who runs a dairy. They were on their way to deposit cash at the bank when they were stopped by two robbers at broad daylight, police said.

According to police, the father who runs a dairy at Rohini Sector-3 was on his way to deposit Rs 3 lakh in cash at the bank along with his son. They were traveling in a scooty. The robbers allegedly followed the duo on a motorcycle and threw chili powder at the father. They then tried to snatch the bag containing cash when the boy allegedly resisted. The accused persons tried to threaten the boy with a gun but he failed. The accused then reportedly fired at the child and he was hit in his lower abdomen.

Following this, the enraged public caught hold of one of the robber, thrashed him up, and called the police.

The other accused fled the spot but was arrested in the evening with a country made pistol, police said. “The child was taken to the hospital. He is in a critical condition,” police added.
