This year, total 13,015 prosecutions were made by Traffic Police on Monday which included 2,090 for drunken driving (including 643 prosecutions of registered vehicle owners who allowed their vehicles to be driven by unauthorised persons/drunk drivers).
A total of 881 vehicles were impounded during the drive. In addition, 1,544 persons were prosecuted for jumping the red light, 385 for illegal parking, 139 for dangerous driving, 249 for overspeeding, 1,464 for triple riding, 5,633 for riding without helmet, 780 for not using a seatbelt, 210 for one-way violations and 25 for not having valid driving licence.
