Twelve members of Aam Aadmi Party were suspended from the meeting of the South Delhi Municipal Corporation for 15 days for creating ruckus and disrupting the proceedings, the official said.
SDMC Mayor Kamaljeet Sehrawat described the unprecedented ruckus as a black chapter in the history of the House.
“The AAP members came prepared to disrupt the proceedings and malign the democratic values apart from raising loud slogans and creating obstacles in the functioning of the treasury bench members,” she said.
The Mayor further said that the action was taken as per the rule 73 prescribed in the MCD Act.
