A fire broke out in the 10th floor of a building in northwest Delhi’s Netaji Subhash Place area on Sunday evening. No casualty has been reported in the incident which took place around 4.30 pm and as many as 20 fire tenders were rushed to the spot, a fire official said.

Usually this area is buzzing with activities with hundreds of people working in the offices on week days. Delhi Fire Service officials said it was easier for them to control the fire since offices were empty.

The incident came to light when security guards saw smoke billowing from a ventilation panel on the tenth floor of the building and raised an alarm. The fire was found to have originated in an office. Fire could be brought under control after Delhi Fire Services pressed 22 fire engines into service. It took two hours of sustained efforts to bring the fire under control, said a fire official.
