The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has arrested a person for creating a fake website (aislso.gov.com) in the name of ‘All India Soil and land Use Survey Organisation’ (AISlSO), Government of India and running fake job recruitment advertisements on the site.

The arrested accused  has been identified as 23-year-old Sunil Kumar, a resident of Ganganagar in Rajasthan, duped 11,514 job applicants and accumulated a total amount of Rs 28,44,300 in the form of application fee from the applicants through Pay U money. Kumar was arrested on Friday from Rajasthan after the agency raided his residence and seized incriminating documents.

AISlSO is the apex organisation in the country which deals with soil survey and land resource mapping. It is an organisation under the Department of Agriculture, Cooperation and Farmers Welfare, Government of India.

CBI Inspector Pawan Kumar Kaushik said the accused had opened a website www.aislsogov.com and advertised fake recruitments for various posts of 'All India Soil and land Use Survey Organisation'.

"Job hungry people all over India got enticed on seeing an advertisement for recruitment at AISlSO, Government of India. The accused further asked the applicants to deposit application fee through Pay U Money account for which he had opened a merchant account in the name of AISlSO in Pay U money and in Allahabad bank, Hanumangarh in Rajasthan," said Kaushik.

Inspector Kaushik further added that the accused had garnered Rs 28,44,300 which was deposited by way of 11,514 transactions as application fee by the applicants which is direct evidence against the accused Sunil Kumar and the case requires further investigation.

"The victims who were duped are being contacted for the purpose of collection of evidence and their statements. Some victims have been examined and they said that they had applied on the fake website assuming that it was a Government website and the recruitment was for a Government department" said Inspector Kaushik.

The Pioneer had first reported that VS Arya, chief soil survey officer, Government of India, had wrote a detailed complaint regarding the fraud to the Prime Minister's office (PMO) on April 13 this year.

The complaint was then forwarded to the CBI for investigation by Pritendra Kumar, the Joint Deputy Director in the PMO.
