‘Yoga helpful in post-Covid recovery’

While Yoga has become an integral part of lifestyle in the pandemic times, the national Capital will now have its Delhi Pharmaceutical Sciences Research University (DPSRU). Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and his deputy Manish Sisodia inaugurated the centre on Sunday and highlighted how Yoga will reach every house lauding it can indeed be ‘Jan Andolan’.

“In these difficult times, people are feeling the need for yoga more than ever. Yoga can not only help improve immunity in the body but it also helps in recovery post-Covid,” said Kejriwal.

Interacting with 450 Yoga instructions virtually, Kejriwal said Monday is the International Day of Yoga, and he believes that there could not have been a better way to celebrate this prestigious day.

“It has been a dream for both me and Sisodia to make Yoga reach each and every house of Delhi and to devise ways in which we can do so.  We have been repeatedly hearing from many people that Yoga needs to be propagated as a Jan Andolan, but how can that be done, the ways in which it can reach the doors of every house, is hardly spoken about,” he said.

Mentioning about post Covid implications, he said those who have survived a strong case of Covid-19, need to rebuild their physical and mental health. Yoga and meditation can do that, he said.

''We keep hearing people talking about taking Yoga to people, making Yoga a 'Jan Andolan', a people's movement. India has taught Yoga to the world, but how many people in India practise yoga,'' the Chief Minister said.
