The book ‘Ink, Saffron and Freedom: A Journey Through India’s Soul’ authored by veteran journalist Kedar Nath Gupta with contributions from Manoranjana Sinh was officially launched at the Dr Ambedkar International Centre.

The book launch event was attended by notable figures including Dr Krishna Gopal, Sah-Sarkaryavah of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), and Prem Prakash, Chairman of Asian News International (ANI). The book explores India’s modern nation-building, cultural resurgence, and the challenges faced by Indian journalism today. Gupta said the book is both a spiritual and historical journey, replete with vivid accounts of key events like the Partition violence, the rise of the RSS, and the struggles within Indian journalism. More than merely a historical record, Ink, Saffron and Freedom serves as a call to reclaim cultural heritage and national identity amid India’s evolving political landscape.

During the launch, Dr Krishna Gopal emphasised the importance of the Hindu way of life and its tolerance as a model for the world, while Prem Prakash highlighted the book’s dual narrative, offering invaluable insights into both Delhi and independent India’s political evolution.

Gupta expressed gratitude to international allies such as Erik Solheim and Aiden White for their support in making this work possible and hopes it provokes thought and reflection among readers.
