‘Flu corners' at Charak Palika Hospital to screen Covid-19 patients

In the wake of coronavirus outbreak, New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) has opened a unique 24×7 flu corner at the Charak Palika Hospital (CPH) to check patients complaining of fever and other related symptoms.

The flu center has been developed by the NDMC at Moti Bagh in New Delhi. It has a glass barrier to avoid human touch between Health Care Provider ( HCP ) and patient.

A senior NDMC official said that this flu corner will ensure protection to the healthcare providers (doctors and other medical staff) besides saving personal protective equipment (PPE) used to check coronavirus affected person.

“The design involves a temporary structure made of canvas with a glass partition. The glass partition with microphone facility provides effective protection at the time of patient interaction with the healthcare provider,” he said.

The official further said that the flu corner is constructed in an open area, away from the main Charak Palika Hospital within its premises. “A CCTV camera is installed at the flu corner which is connected with the Central Control and Command Centre (CCC) under the smart city mission,” he added.
