‘Centre invests heavily in Delhi’

Delhi BJP spokesperson Praveen Shankar Kapoor said Centre invests heavily in Delhi and Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia should know about it.

Citing the examples of expressway, Kapoor said that Centre allows fixed budgetary amounts to different states but as a parent caretaker of Delhi it spends on various road infrastructures helping in reducing traffic and pollution problems. “Centre gives budget for public transport i.e. Metro development in Delhi and has recently allocated a budget for 100 Electronic Buses in Delhi.

Many more works are being done for the people of Delhi by the Centre including construction of ROBs etc. CSR spending by Centre too is too large for Delhi,” he added.

“As for funds of MCDs are concerned the federal cord of the constitution is such that Centre has to route funds for Delhi's MCDs through Delhi Government and Centre is giving grants for road cleaning vehicles, garbage trucks, toilet blocks construction and for running primary schools,” he added.
