Five non-Thai citizens, including a prominent ethnic Indian businessman, would face legal action for participating in anti-government protests, a senior official said on Wednesday.

The ethnic Indian was identified as Sathit Segal, a core member of the anti-government People’s Democratic Reform Committee (PDRC). He has led protesters in Bangkok’s business district. Tarit Pengdith, head of the Department of Special Investigation, said an ad-hoc committee has been set up to work out measures to confiscate the assets of protest supporters. The committee was led by secretary general of the Anti-Money laundering Office, he said.
