India and China are set to pursue an “ambitious agenda” utilising strategic openings and deal with the unresolved issues in a purposeful manner with a sense of urgency, according to new Indian Ambassador Ashok K Kantha.

“We hope to pursue an ambitious agenda, utilising strategic openings that exist on Sunday. In parallel, we will deal with the unresolved issues in a purposeful manner with a sense of urgency,” Kantha said, referring to the efforts by both the countries to resolve the decades-long boundary issue.

Kantha, 58, who took over as Ambassador here this month read out President Pranab Mukherjee’s Republic Day speech after hoisting the tricolour here and later addressed the well attended Indian community.
