Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi on Wednesday said that the State Government would consider it on humanitarian ground if Ulfa chief Paresh Baruah desired to see his ailing mother, Miliki Baruah in his native place.
The Chief Minister stated this on Wednesday while extending a financial assistance of `1 lakh to the ailing mother of one of the top fugitives in the country from the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund for the treatment of the octogenarian lady.
Miliki Baruah, the octogenarian mother of Ulfa’s anti- talk faction’s commander-in-chief Paresh Baruah, was admitted to a private nursing home here on Tuesday after she complained of palpitation and breathing trouble.
The 88-year-old is suffering from acute joint pain, low blood pressure and chronic cough, according to doctors at Sanjivani Diagnostics and Hospital where she is undergoing treatment.
“She was admitted to the intensive care unit and put on ventilator as her blood oxygen levels were low. She is being treated by a cardiologist and a general medicine doctor. Her condition is stable. She talked with her family members,” said a hospital official.
Miliki lives with one of her sons at her home in the Jeraigaon area of Chabua in Dibrugarh district of Upper Assam.
