Nine people died after a Learjet 60 crashed in a residential area near Cresthaven, Florida, on Sunday, according to US Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy.
The aircraft crashed at around 12:50 pm ET (1750 GMT), with all nine people on board killed, Duffy said in a social media post, describing the incident as a "horrific tragedy".
The Learjet had taken off from Austin-Bergstrom International Airport in Texas and was bound for North Eleuthera Airport in the Bahamas, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) said in a statement.
The FAA said the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) was investigating the crash. (with inputs from PTI)
