Wushu voodoo!

Pioneer

Not everything is worth a recommendation at the Chinese restaurant at Kamla Nagar. E Agha tells you what to avoid

It was raining when I visited Wushu, a Chinese joint at Kamla Nagar. I think I will have to give the chef a benefit of doubt that he too had a rainy day inside the kitchen because there is no other way an expert can serve five to six dishes that taste almost the same — salty!

Probably the chef tried too hard to impress and over did the veggies and meats with sauces and spices. This comes in the times of sophisticated, subtle Chinese dishes served by some known restaurants where the emphasis is more on keeping it mild, and going away from the ‘Chin-jabi’ flavours. After a long time I faced ‘soy attack!’

Chicken Thai-chi blended where herbs tasted better than crispy fried chicken. Avoid crispy lamb. The Mongolian chicken and fried rice combo saved the outing.

like every cloud has a silver lining, my visit to Wushu had a great moment — mango margarita.

If you are annoyed with the salt offerings, order two. I did that!
