The ongoing festival at Roost Bistro is all about American, African, Mexican, Italian and Asian flavours. By Pari Saikia
If you ever doubted that food can make you high, you may try visiting the ongoing chicken wings festival at Roost Bistro, Hauz Khas Village. Aptly called ‘Wings of Desire,’ the festival offers variety of flavoured wings, inspired from American, African, Mexican, Italian and Asian flavours. Balanced mix of spices and melt-in-the mouth meat make the delicacies served here a must-have.
The festival menu features irresistible and appetising eight items. They are Jack Daniel chicken wings, classic buffalo wings, far east stuffed chicken wings, ranch Mexican polo wings, piri piri chicken wings, black pepper chicken wings, wings of fire ‘hot’ and corn coated chicken wings.
Interestingly, Jack Daniel chicken wings are prepared in American-Mexican style on top of which the chef has mysteriously added spices and JD. “We love to bring new twist to Oriental food items and that is why we came up with this idea of making sauce with Jack Daniel,” said Ganesh, chef of Roost Bistro. “The one which is mostly demanded by the food lovers is the piri piri chicken wings made from African chilly and peanuts,” added Ganesh.
Piri Piri chicken wings have been prepared by marinating chicken in piri piri chilli and peanut paste. Therefore, the piri piri chicken wings leave a tantalising effect on the tongue and the chicken melts in your mouth. Any spicy non-vegan lover would love to have this one on his plate.
Another delight of festival is the far east stuffed chicken wings. It offers you juicy and mouth-watering chicken wings which have been stuffed with pan seared chicken minces.
Ranch Mexican polo wings are best dressed in ranch cream (Mexican mayonnaise); and black pepper chicken wings give you the relishing taste of crispy, sweet and sour chicken lollypop garnished in black pepper.
All the chicken wings are made and served with variety of sauces prepared by the chefs, adding new twist to the dishes. The price ranges from `350 to 550. The fest is on till May 31.
