When the entire cast and crew of Jai Gangaajal is up and about promoting the film in every possible way, how can the leading lady be far behindIJ Amidst her super tight schedule of juggling Quantico and other Hollywood projects, Priyanka Chopra squeezed out some time to speak on the movie through a live streaming from Miami.
“It's been a crazy day yesterday. I am shooting for Baywatch here for three days. Yesterday was my first day and we wrapped up at 4am. Hollywood ko Bollywood bana diya hai maine,” giggled the actor over the live call.
Although she is in the US, she could not be more excited about her Indian release. “I have wanted to work with Prakash ji for a long time but nothing worked out. So when he was casting for this, I was juggling Bajirao Mastani and Quantico. He guesses that I was short if time so he narrated the story to me in 15 minutes and I was so hooked that I told him ‘Ab to ap fas gaye. Yeh role to main hi karungi',” shared Chopra who pushed back dates of both the projects to accommodate Jai Gangaajal.
She praised the director’s attention to detail and getting things done at the right time. “It was because of that we were able to wrap up the shoot in time. He has a great sense of clarity which I have not seen in anyone else,” she pointed out.
It was, however, not difficult for Chopra to get into Abha’s character because she could relate to the upbringing. “There is a certain softness to her personality that comes from the upbringing you have in UP and I know that. Yet, the way she stands up for the right thing shows inner strength and that is what we should commend,” she added.
She shared stories about how her co-stars in the US are excited for the movie and how she feels happy to be a medium for cultural exchange between the two countries. “There are certain stereotypes that are being broken through me and it feels good. People here are discovering a whole new side to Indian films,” added Chopra who will resume her shooting for Quantico in three days.
Although she looked tired, she said that she she has no plans to take a break. “Breaks are for weak people,” the actor wrapped up.
