Actor Shahid Kapoor has been under spotlight after the success of Haider and is looking to repeat the same with his latest movie, Shaandaar. “I’m still not relaxed but a sense of being at peace after the success of last few films is definitely there. Being relaxed is very rare in the industry. I feel like I’m on a journey which I'm enjoying and I don't think I could have said that in the middle of my career when I was confused and didn’t really know what kind of films I should do. Currently my focus is on the process not the result,” said Kapoor at a press conference.

The film also stars Alia Bhatt who has been paired up with Kapoor for the first time. Speaking about her experience Kapoor’s co-star in the film said, “Shahid’s real family is my family in the film. It was amazing working with his family. We all bonded really well.” Kapoor said he was scared working with Alia as she’s very talented.

The film also marks the debut of Sanah Kapoor who will be seen sharing screen space with father Pankaj Kapoor and brother Shahid. “I got much ignored on sets as my dad and sister both were bonding with Alia more. But for me as a brother it was a very proud moment to see my sister debut,” said Kapoor.

On the comparisons being made between Shaandaar andJab We Met Bhatt said, “I won’t compare this film at all with Jab We Met. The only similarity is Shahid starred in both the films also I don’t think Kareena’s character in Jab We Met can be played again. Geet is an iconic character which can’t be recreated.”

Shahid begged to differ, “I think if anybody could play Geet in the future it would be Alia as her energy matches the energy of the character.”

OnShaandaar being touted as India’s first destination wedding film Kapoor said, “Visually the movie is very attractive. Vikas enhanced the destination very nicely in the film. He wanted to create a world which people haven’t seen before. It’s my first beautiful good looking film as I’ve done dark and edgy films before.”

Talking about working with his father Pankaj Kapoor, Shahid said, “Working with him was scary at first. I was intimidated sharing screen space with him but at the same time was very excited. I had been looking forward to it for 12 years and  I’m glad at finally getting the opportunity.”

“The one similarity between Shahid and his father is that they both ask how it was after every shot,” Alia said.

The movie is scheduled to release on October 22.
