‘Mental health demands attention’
Actor Amitabh Bachchan feels that it is important to confront the mental health crisis, adding that the issue should be given undivided attention.
“Today, the way I see it is a question of a lifeline. A lifeline can be anyone who simply cares about mental illness. Even though the truth has a way of hitting right across your face, it's important to confront it,” Bachchan said.
“A crisis, as insidious and devastating as mental health one demands our undivided attention. It's more upto the fortunate ones to make ourselves available to those who seek help,” he added.
‘Asif (Basra) was a fantastic actor. The news of his demise is very shocking and disturbing. It is indeed a loss. While making Jab We Met, I wanted an intelligent and a special actor. I wanted to show two qualities — lechery and humour — at the same time through that role. Couldn’t get to work with him after that movie. I will miss him in films.’ —Imtiaz Ali
