‘Directing is like a worker's life’

Actress Kangana Ranaut, who took over the reigns as director of her forthcoming film Manikarnika — The Queen of Jhansi, says directing a film is like leading a worker's life, but she had fun while she was at it.

Asked whether she wants to pursue direction in the future as well, she said, “I was telling my sister yesterday, no actor wants to be sweaty where 80 people are asking you like 100 questions. I am so comfortable in this job that there is nothing more that I love than directing, even though I don't get to wear make-up and I don't get any special treatment.”

‘Kareena Kapoor is an inspiration for the working girls. She has proved that one can have a successful career along with enjoying their personal life. The way she has managed both her professional and personal life is simply amazing.’

Actor Vikrant Massey has bagged a pivotal role in Meghna Gulzar's forthcoming film in which actress Deepika Padukone will play the role of acid attack survivor Laxmi Agarwal.

“We will start the film in the third week of March 2019. Vikrant is somebody who I wanted to work with since Raazi.

“And after I saw him in A Death In The Gunj... you know there are some actors that you just want to work with and I'm just glad I got the opportunity to have a suitable character for him in this film, which is Deepika's partner,” Meghna said.

“I think I can speak for both Deepika and me that we're really excited that he's playing this part,” she added.

‘I’m proud of the character Beckett’

Actress Stana Katic, who played detective Kate Beckett for eight seasons in the comedy-crime series Castle, says she is proud of that character.

“Kate Beckett is a character that I am proud of. I personally don't feel any pressure to break away from the image of Kate Beckett. I think back to that character very fondly,” Katic said.

She is now busy working on the second season of Absentia in which she plays Emily Byrne.

Asked how many seasons she would like Absentia to have, Katic said, “I don't have a specific number. I think as long as we tell a good story and finish it off strong... I feel like you have to know when to end...at a stage where the audience still wants more.
