The S&S Trunk Show at Eros Hotel opening today will have over 60 labels including 10 international ones showing their latest collections besides Swarovski-studded artworks by Jyotika Chhabra. By Karan Bhardwaj

A trunk show is always a fun to attend! Fashion-struck junta and the crème de la crème throng the venue to check the latest merchandise of leading brands. The Eros Hotel will witness the similar action today as the much-awaited S&S Trunk Show will unfurl latest collections from over 60 brands including 10 international ones. “We are very peculiar about the participating brands. Unlike other similar events, where anybody can pay and buy the space, we hold a screening process before finalising the list. We have always tried to present a mix of leading and upcoming labels, both international as well as domestic. Special attention is given to young entrepreneurs and labels,” says 28-year-old founder Sonam Pall.

Some of the brands showing today include Bally, Porsche Design, Heel & Buckle (london), Baby Gap, Baby Ralph lauren, Carters, Valliyan by Nitya Arora, Initimate Street featuring European labels like Parah, Christies, Jolidon & Charmante.

Stuff of designers like Varun Bahl, Gauri and Nainika, AM:PM, Raakesh Aggarwal, Cue by Rohit Gandhi & Rahul Khanna, Ranna Gill will be brought by Closet Onset.

“We have international chains collaborating with participating websites. For instance, Elitify is bringing exclusive merchandise from UK brands like Prada, Juicy Couture, Tory Burch, Hugo Boss, Salvatore Ferragamo, Valentino, Etro, Victoria’s Secret and others. Most of them are showing latest prêt collections. Since holidays in India are approaching, several labels are bringing casual clothing lines,” informs Pall.

Another highlight would be designers from the Middle East and Pakistan. “There’s special attraction for Pakistani designers in India. We have on board Moniba Abbasi, Kaukab Abadal and Sabeen Abadal and Sadaf Ahmed,” she says.

Adding another dimension to the show would be an art collection, Aodh- The Fire Within by Jyotika Chhabra. She is displaying 10 paintings studded with stones and Swarovski crystals. They are a mix of abstract and human shapes. “Humans have complicated emotions. For me, art is a medium to express those emotions. I have drawn the fury on canvas using stones and Swarovski. They make dark emotions look ethereal and pretty,” says the artist.
