The sizzle set

GANITA

Barcelos comes up with some delicious sizzlers for monsoon craves. GANITA tries some

The cozy ambience of the restaurant will sure make you forget the terrible heat wave of the city. located in Hauz Khas Village, right beside Imperfecto on the first floor, Barcelos has an uncluttered seating area which you won’t find in most HKV eateries. It has got a two-table outdoor seating, a quick-dine space, big bar and a more laid-back lounge. The colourful wall murals enhance the beauty of the place.

We were welcomed with refreshing cocktails by the diligent staff there. Although Barcelos has South African flavours going in yet it manages to throw in some Indian punches in its cocktails. Teekhi mirchi was served first.

A mix of vodka, guava juice, fresh green chillies and lime juice making for a piquant drink. If you want to have a pan flavoured drink then Pan Tini is the best option here.

This refreshing cocktail had betel leaves, areca nut, mukhwas, gulkand and vanilla ice-cream in it. Refreshing your gullet this one quenches your thirst.

When insisted we tried ‘Portuguese In love’ - a wonderful mix of brandy and pomegranate.

Without much ado we finally turn to what we were here for - the mesmerising sizzlers, one look at them made us hungrier than we were.

We were first served the grilled vegetable sizzler, the platter garnished with sizzling veggies and fries.

We also had sweet pineapple for company which added to the sweetness of the dish. After this it was time for some kebab sizzler. Just come to think of it, kebab and sizzler - a deadly combination in itself. And as anticipated it turned out to be magical.

A mix of grilled paneer, pineapple, babycorn, stuffed mushrooms and kebabs, it will fill you up, a perfect blend of vegetables.

For the dessert we were served luscious gold chocolate cake. All in all, we would say come for the sizzlers, everyday cocktails and enjoy the comfortable atmosphere. Chicken enthusiasts, do try the chicken espetada and chicken liver.
