Russian socialite Dasha Zhukova was recently condemned online for posing on a controversial art piece
When Russian socialite Dasha Zhukova sat on what she thought was a classic piece of art, she had no idea she would land in trouble. Girlfriend of Roman Abramovich, owner of Chelsea Football Club, Zhukova sparked outrage online when a fashion website posted a picture of her posing on a ‘racist chair’. In the photograph, the mannequin is naked, save for knee-high boots, elbow-length gloves and black hotpants. She is lying on her back with her legs crushing her breasts against her body and her head tilted up, possibly in pain. Zhukova is shown resting her back against one of the mannequin’s upright boots.
Some of the immediate reactions to this on Twitter were like, “Just about the most ridiculous, crazy, racist piece of furniture we’ve ever seen. later Zhukova defended the image in a statement: “I utterly abhor racism, and would like to apologise to anyone who has been offended by this image.”
