Rajyogi Brahma Kumar Nikunji

Rajyogi Brahmakumar Nikunj says eyes can be used to communicate love, mercy and compassion, thus creating a better world around us

It is said that face is the index of mind and eyes are the mirror of soul. Our eyes reveal everything that’s going on inside us. We may smile and pretend to be happy from outside, but if someone looks into our eyes, they will see the real feelings.

We acknowledge or ignore with eyes and make all sort of gestures through them. Nature has blessed us with two eyes, through which we all see and experience the world. Without eyes, no sights, scenes or colour patterns can be experienced, nor can we perceive anything exactly as it is and beyond. Eyes communicate both ways — they can receive impressions and transmit expressions, without uttering a single word.

One can virtually speak through the eyes. Silence, they say, is the climax of speech, and eyes are the medium for that.Eyes can smile, express love, hatred, sympathy and many more emotions that develop within us.

It is said that no river flows deeper than the tears from our eyes because eyes shed tears in diametrically opposite states of joy and grief. In shame or deceit, eyes get automatically lowered, we raise them to make a point and we see ‘eye to eye’ with each other on an agreement.

When we are angry, our eyes become red. Our eyes are merely a functionary of the ‘inner eye’ or the mind. The state of our mind directs our eyes to act according to its likes and dislikes, pride and prejudices. A vice-afflicted soul will use his/her eyes for vicious purposes — to express lust, anger, greed, attachment, ego, jealousy, hatred, whereas a pious person will communicate love, mercy, appreciation, sympathy, encouragement, good wishes and blessings through his eyes.

We can be called civilised only when we are viceless. If we are vicious and ‘criminal-eyed’, then our actions will be unrighteous and sinful which would spread sorrow and suffering around us. What we see and express through our eyes depends largely on our the state of mind, outlook and attitudes.

Of the five sensory organs in our body, eyes are the most powerful that enable the soul to perceive. However, not much is ever talked about the “third eye” that is non-physical and therefore invisible to the physical eyes and can be visualised with ‘divine intellect’ or ‘divine insight’ bestowed by the Supreme.

It is the “third eye” which looks inward to seek truths about our true reality. It is also known as “the eye of knowledge” and it opens with self realisation and with regular practice of Rajyoga.

When the third eye ‘opens up’, our thinking process changes, light comes into our lives and we experience ‘the real self’ and others with a new vision of clarity. Compassion, truth and love fill our heart and so our vision.

There is a true feeling that everyone is good and beloved, but without duality. This light also lets us clearly see what is around us, what is important and what we need to ignore. Our life becomes inspiring, of quality, of value and filled with mercy, love and truth ,bringing us close to our original nature, which in turn enlightens us as well as the people around us through positive vibes.
