Pioneer

This summer, keep it light. Don’t leave your house without a sunscreen and tinted moisturiser, reminds make-up expert Nidhi Khurana

liquid foundation is heavy. Avoid it if you can. If you must use base makeup, apply to even out skin tone rather than your normal foundation. You use a foundation with SPF too.

Touch of bronzer

Use a little for healthy glow. Apply where sun naturally hits the face — forehead, nose, cheeks and chin. Use a thin, fan-shaped brush to get light, subtle coverage. If you use bronzer, skip blush. If you aren’t using bronzer, a light apricot or peach blush is ideal. Try mineral powder

Powder eyeliner

Eyeliner often smudges easily in the heat and humidity. So use a powder eye shadow rather than pencil or liquid liner. With the tip of a small, slanted brush, apply dark shadow in a thin line to define your lash line. If you are going in the water, skip liner.

light eye shadow

This creases and melts with perspiration, heat and humidity. So make sure to apply primer first. Choose light eye shadow colors that are close to the skin tone.

Vanilla or gold shadow can give good colour.

Water proof mascara

Use in day time and at night.

Tinted lip balm

Skip lipstick and choose a light lip gloss or tinted lip balm. lip conditioners are fantastic for summer, providing sun protection and a sexy hint of colour.

SUMMER HAIR

The knot

One of the hottest trends of this summer, this style can be done in day time and night with accessories.

Ponytails

To wear this, think low and wide. Braid in a crisscross direction. Slick your part and tie a knot (tight!). Hair accessories are inspired by everything from blossoming flowers to sporty bands and headpieces, for when you want to slip something on and make a statement.
