Yuvika Chaudhary hopes her forthcoming movie Enemmy gets her more roles in Bollywood. She chats with I Kaur on erratic beginnings, experience on small screen and her Punjabi films

Yuvika Chaudhary is content with her life as an actor. Her next is Enemmy, releasing tomorrow. The actress feels lucky to have worked with well-known actors. In Enemmy, her co-stars are Kay Kay Menon, Mithun Chakraborty and in the past she has worked with Shah Rukh Khan in Om Shanti Om and Govinda in Naughty @ 40.

About Enemmy she said, “This film happened by chance. I was at a get together and Mithun da spotted me. Two days later I had the script in hand. It was a small role, but an important one.” She added that working with Mithun and Suniel Shetty has been a great experience. “Mithun da is a good cook and often prepared food for us. Dada is one of the most talented people I know,” she exclaimed.

Yuvika was first seen in Zee TV’s India’s Best Cinestars Ki Khoj. Despite the fact that she didn’t win the show, offers poured in. She took none seriously. “I rejected all of them and later realised that they could have given my career a kickstart,” said the 26-year-old actress. Yuvika did Astitva...Ek Prem Kahani on Zee but could only sustain a few episodes. “It was stressful. I didn’t have a life, I worked for almost entire day, so I left the serial in few months,” she said.

The actress shared she never had any godfather in the industry and she could have done far better if somebody would have guided her. “I only have my parents to guide me. I am sure I would have done well if I would have had someone to give me direction,” she told us.

She took a break from soaps and films and only did ad commercials. Things changed after Om Shanti Om. “Working with Shah Rukh Khan was a dream come true. Being a small town girl I never thought I would get an opportunity to work with the superstar like him. But I think destiny had some things planned for me,” she said.

But even after being a part of Om Shanti Om, her career could not take off the way she wanted. “I think ups and downs are a part of career. I am working hard. I have age on my side and my positive attitude will help me. At least I am in the industry, which is better than being out of it.”

She is particular about the scripts she will choose. “I am doing a Punjabi and Hindi film. My last Punjabi movie, Daddy Cool Munde Fool, was a hit and its success opened doors of opportunities,” she ended.
