The Asian Designer Week brought together few of the best designers from the continent

Fashion shows we have seen many but none quite as this. The two day extravaganza Asia Designer Week brought under one roof few of the best designers from the continent.

Rajdeep Ranawat, India

It was a fun and quirky collection for the holidays inspired by the most beautiful coastal towns of Italy. Stunning hand painted artworks and architectural paintings of villas, islands, boats and pretty foliage inspired by beautiful seascapes of picturesque coastal cities of Portofino, Positano, Sorrento and Amalfi is the essential inspiration for this range of cruise wear for 2016. “The collection was inspired by beautiful seascapes of picturesque coastal cities of Portofino, Positano, Sorrento and Amalfi is the essential inspiration for my collection,” said the designer who worked with organic fabrics such as fine cotton and crepes.

Aidar Khan, Kazakhstan

Khan’s collection was based on the synthesis of wise traditions of nomadic clothes and spring summer trends. “The inspiration was drawn from the all the national clothes of Kazakhs. It incorporated all the best and with that we were able to highlight the art and talent of craftsmen,” Khan said. Felt was the primary fabric that the designer has used in the collection along with other material. “Nomads often used felt,” Khan added.

Wang Yihua, China

Yihua’s had used the pure natural fabric with a history of more than 3,000 years and full of xinjiang characteristics. “We got the inspiration from a special dress from an ethnic group. More specifically from the uyghur people group,” said the designer whose silk collection was in bright shades of bird colours. “But the collection is not new. The showcase is from my previous collection,” he pointed out. On being associated with the fashion week, he said, “This is a new opportunity for us to visit India, also it is a chance for us to understand the living style of Indians.”
