Japan govt organisation NEDO (New Energy and Industrial Technology Development Organisation), under Ministry of Economy Trade & Industry Japan, has initiated discussions with BSNl to reduce the carbon print created by pollution from diesel generating sets used at the telecom towers.
Miyamoto, chief of NEDO in India had a meeting today at Bharat Sanchar Bhawan with Anupam Shrivastava, director, Consumer Mobility, BSNl and explained the support of Japan to India. This falls in line with the directives of the PM to reduce the dependence on energy by substituting the same with solarpower , an alternative and renewable energy. There has been a sea change in the solar technology which has improved the efficiency.
NTT Japan consumes one per cent of the power generation in Japan in its telecom network, which is equal to the power produced by one nuclear plant.
