Manish Arora’s futuristic designs brought a fabulous end to the Wills India Fashion Week (WIFW)

Grand would not be sufficient to describe Manish Arora’s finale show.

The designer rocked the ramp with his futuristic designs, some were also shown at the Paris Fashion Week. Manish was inspired by his last visit to Burning Man in Nevada.

Prints on neon shades, like always, were the strong point of the collection. Geometric motifs and borders were created to translate the psychedelic mirage forms from Burning Man with lustrous laser-cut material, sequin embroidery, beads and chains.

The designer said that the collection had a rich and contrasted mix of fabrics, quilted neoprene, cotton velvet, silk crepe and nappa leather.

Moulded leather turbans and nose rings were one of the highlights of the show.

“My line has to have some strong Indian inspiration and in this collection it comes in more than one ways,” commented Manish.

Sonam Kapoor was present as a special guest for Manish’s show.

The actress, who has flaunted the designer’s garments on many occasions said that “I chose to wear sari as it was something different. Dresses I can wear on so many occasions. And anything that I pick up from his collection is just spectacular. For this event, I had many choices but I deliberately chose to wear a sari,” she said.

live music that made the models dance and the crowd go crazy was another highlight of the show.
