Wendell Rodricks has picked up the poster submitted by Hyderabad-based graphic designer Punith Mahesh as the winning design of the Kashish International Poster Competition. With stark graphics, it reflects the concept of exploring the mind

The theme for this year’s Kashish Mumbai International Queer Film Festival is ‘dare to dream’. A poster competition was held to select a perfect design that speaks volumes on the aim and objective of the festival and at the same time conveys its theme. Fashion designer Wendell Rodricks has selected a poster submitted by Hyderabad-based graphic designer Punith Mahesh as the winning design. The poster with stark graphics reflects the concept of exploring the mind, thus creating an unforgettable and easily identifiable impact on the audience.

“Dare to dream aptly reflects the emerging change. Our theme is a salute to the undying spirit and synergy of lGBT communities around the world and the changes it has brought in. It is a reflection of hopes, plans, strategies, dreams for the future and will reinvigorate and reinvent aspirations. The poster perfectly describes all this. Every year we pick up a large number of films on transgender issues from across the world and they have been greatly appreciated. This year too there is a spotlight on transgender films as well as a panel discussion planned to discuss the current scenario,” said Sridhar Rangayan, the festival director. The festival beginning from May 21 will feature films like Will This Change from Bangladesh and My Mother from Britain.
