Ansal University has tied up with International College of Financial Planning to provide a specialised degree course for MBA in applied finance

Established just three years ago, Ansal University,  announced the initiation of a technical knowledge partnership with the International College of Financial Planning (ICFP) which is promoted by Bajaj Capital, India’s largest Investment Solutions and Financial Assessment for a specialized MBA degree in Applied Finance, at The lalit. This collaboration has led to the development of a super specialised, industry-oriented degree program which boasts of an industry ready cutting-edge curriculum for financial studies.
ICFP, which has a 100 per cent placement record since its inception, would concern itself with the infrastructure required for practical application of the subjects and training an accomplished faculty which would include professionals from the industry as well as an established academia. The scope of internship and placements is very large as over 250 companies are tied up to ICFP. Pranav Ansal, trustee of Ansal University and vice chairman of Ansal API along with Raj S Dhankar, vice chancellor of the university and Sanjeev Bajaj, managing director of Bajaj Capital limited presided over the MoU signing ceremony and unveiled the brochure of the degree programme.
Dhankar, who has had an illustrious career of 35 years in teaching financial studies, rued the condition of higher education in India, mentioning Delhi University in great detail, “Colleges in DU are setting high cut-offs without providing adequate facilities, I haven’t seen such a system anywhere else and this is extremely preposterous.” He also reasoned that this is why majority of the youth are making a beeline to rush off to foreign universities. “We at Ansal University aim to bring a well-equipped industrial academia closer to the students and this venture is sure to pay off handsomely with the world class facilities we offer at nominal fees of just ` 2.95 lakh per annum,” Dhankar stated.
Bajaj, an internationally acclaimed luminary in the field of financial studies, also shared his thoughts, “Theoretical knowledge has minimal value, global trend has displayed. The future of education in India lies in applied studies.”
The programme will work on a two-tier approach of providing in-depth knowledge about application of concepts in the area of finance and financial research. He also added, “This is what has enabled us to develop such a system where students have the ability to be almost as good as people who are already working in the respective industry.”
Announcing the tie-up, Ansal was visibly excited, “It is our mission at Ansal University to provide the optimum platform for students to excel in their respective field. And with this collaboration with the ICFP, we believe that we can actually produce job-ready professionals without fail.”
The two year degree program, which will offer an internationally relevant course module with hands on training and 100 per cent placement assistance in sectors like banking and financial services, has an intake capacity of 60 students.
