A recent survey reveals travellers do not want to talk about their trips on social networks or share anecdotes with their office colleagues
With the extended holiday that comes along with the festive season, travel trotters across the country gear themselves up to make the most of it. And before one ventures out for a trip, there are quite a few things one considers — the destination, transport, reservations and a host of other stuffs. There are many different websites which help take care of such details and one such is Happytrips.com.
In a unique survey conducted by the website reveals that a majority of the employed population, who like to travel, take opportunity of extended weekends to chalk out a pleasure trip. While some of them seek proper permission from home and office to take a break, there are few who chose to lie and make a go for it. And those vacationers think twice as much before they make a social media update. Conducted in Maharashtra, Delhi and Karnataka, the survey shows that 32 per cent of people stay away from posting updates on social media.
And that’s not all, the respondents comprised of a good mixture of men and women from the age group of 18 to 43. The findings also noted some solid reason why people kept away from the social media. A staggering 41 per cent did not want their colleagues to know about their personal life, while 21 per cent wanted to keep relatives unaware of their activities. And yes, 12 per cent of respondents confessed of keeping a holiday a secret from their partners.
The Puja holidays are round the corner and one quick look at the calendar will show a six-day holiday, starting form Oct 2 to 6, which many travelers would take advantage of. Now, what remains to be seen is how they approach it. Will it be the official way, turning in a formal leave letter or tricking ones way into the holidaysIJ
