Around 30 women of Sumedha village received sewing machines as part of CSR initiatives taken up by NTPC Korba to empower the women of the villages in the vicinity of the power station. UP Path, Director (HR) gave away the machines during a function at Pragati Club on May 5. SN Ganguly, Regional Executive Director and SK Roy, General Manager were also present on this occasion.
It is to be noted here that all the thirty beneficiaries were imparted two-month training programme prior to the distribution of machines. Certificates were distributed to the beneficiaries including those who had attended the programme on beautician and computer programmes. The training programmes were conducted through the Centre for Entrepreneurial Development Board of Madhya Pradesh (CEDMAP).
