The Dishoom chocolate boys did it again as they recreated their chopper landing stunt. Unnati Joshi reports

In stark contrast to stars strolling into press conferences, the new trend is about how to surprise the audience. The Dishoom team innovatively chose to recreate their movie’s highlight stunt. The only drawbackIJ By now it is a stale promotional of sorts and may not kick up the box office pickings.

Action master John Abraham with the latest boy toy Varun Dhawan and Sri lankan desi import Jacqueline Fernandez hitched a chopper ride from the capital’s airport making a grand entrance on a run-of-the-mill cricket ground in Noida, surprising their fans by recreating the toughest stunt of their film.

Talking about their helicopter stunt, which featured the leading men hanging precariously, by its doors, Varun told us, “This is definitely a gravity-defying and logic-defying kind of stunt which I don’t think any other actor would have agreed to perform. There are no body doubles in it.”

But stunts were not the only attraction that drew junior Dhawan to Dishoom. “I did this film because of the story,” he told eager listeners.

Still only a few years old in the fast-paced Bollywood rat race,Varun knows how to package himself for the Press.  “Every film is like a baby for me,” he drawled.

Accomponying the action men, the sole heroine of the movie, Jacqueline, was on board with the stunts, explaining, “I am quite a daredevil myself. Moving away from her girlie roles, Jacqueline told us she felt like one of the boys. Although Jacqueline has had sizzling chemistry with a host of stars, for the Dishoom anticipators, a different kind of chemistry was on their mind; the one with the two leading Bollywood hunks, John and Varun.

John compared his chemistry with Varun eloquently, saying, “The last film where you have seen this kind of chemistry has been Main Khiladi Tu Anari, a more than 20-year-old movie featuring actors Akshay Kumar and Saif Ali Khan.”
