Ram Tirath Agarwal, director (finance), Power Grid Corporation of India limited (POWERGRID) has been felicitated with CA-CFO-Power Sector award by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India in recognition of his exceptional performance and achievements as CA-CFO in the power sector category for the year 2014. The award was presented by the president of institute at the ICAI Award 2014 function held in Mumbai recently.
Agarwal assumed the charge of director (finance) of Power Grid Corporation of India limited (POWERGRID) on July 29, 2011. He has been playing a pivotal role in financial management of the company since inception.
A chartered accountant by profession, Agarwal has more than 33 years of experience in all areas of finance and accounts functions on site and corporate office like finalisation of accounts, raising of debt and equity funds at competitive rates and treasury functions.
He was dedicatedly involved in first public offer of the company in 2007 and played a role in the two successful follow-on public offers of POWERGRID in 2010 and 2013. Before joining POWERGRID in 1991, he had worked in power major NTPC ltd project sites for around 10 years.
