A light-hearted programme ‘Police Factory’ is an action comedy show on SAB TV. Actor Tarun Khanna will be seen as a lead protagonist Shamsher Singh and actress Vivana Singh will portray a character of Maya Mohan.
The show traces the journey of the lead protagonist Shamsher Singh who gives training to the seven promising young cadets in the police academy. The cadets, who joined the Police Academy, are not interested in becoming the police officers, but they joined the academy due to some family pressure. It is a challenge for Shamsher Singh to train these cadets as their inability overpowers their noble intention of becoming successful police officers.
Khanna explains about his role, "I am playing a role of a tough police officer who is well known for his work. I am heading the academy for the last decade and I have given the outstanding officers. I give training to the cadets who join the Police Academy. I have been awarded for my job and appreciated by everyone but, there are few people who are jealous of my success.
They gave a challenge to me to train the cadets who do not want to become a police officer or who are good for nothing as according to them I have trained only those people who were interested and capable of becoming a police officer. So, I accept the challenge that within six months I will make them a successful police officer or will resign from my job."
Actress Singh said told about her role in the show, "I am playing Sub-Inspector in the show. She is very strict and dedicated towards her work. She works under Shamsher Singh and is inspired by him. She wants to be like him."
The show also portrays a light-hearted take on the student-teacher dynamics along with their internal relationships and friendships. According to Khanna, "I am in love with Maya Mohan but she is unaware of it. He thinks of romancing with her in his dream."
On asking about the title of the show, Singh said, "We are producing outstanding police officers so the title of the show is given as 'Police Factory'."
Khanna said, "Till now my relation with the police has been very good. They have always been very supportive and cooperative to me." He added, "We always use to blame that police is never on time, we don't feel safe and secure, but it is their hard work that we can sleep peacefully at night. We often say that Delhi is not safe for women but there are other countries where crime takes place, but we just don't get the news. There are several cases which police have solved in few days but we don't appreciate them for that.”
“My father was a police officer and I have watched him doing his work very closely so, it helped me to get into the character,” said Singh.
Anooj Kapoor, business head SAB TV said, “The concept of our new show Police Factory is very different from our current offering on SAB TV.
