With the use of high intensity interval training, you can achieve a well-toned and healthy body, says Sonia Bajaj
Gone are the days when getting thin and fit was a time consuming exercise. Ask any one and the answer is “going to gym and exercising for hours is very time consuming, so we have given up on that.”
Now you need not slog for hours if you want that dream body and fitness. HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training) is the new approach to fat loss and fitness. During HIIT, a person is made to exercise for 10 seconds at their maximum capacity and give them few seconds of rest. This pattern of taking heart rate to its peak and the recovery is done for 15 to 20 minutes. For example, sprinting for five to 10 seconds and then recovering for 15 to 20 seconds and repeating this for 15 minutes. The workout time is increased and recovery or rest time is reduced as one goes from beginner to advance levels.
There are many other HIIT workouts which can be done without hitting the gym. The benefits of doing short and intense workouts are — less time consuming, calorie burn is higher if you give your hundred percent, fat loss is amazing, there is not only improvement in body composition but also increase in power and other cardiovascular benefits. This kind of workouts help increasing metabolic effects in the body.
But no workout is successful until a proper diet is taken along. You don’t have to starve yourself to loose fat and get fit. Your plate should not be empty but filled with nutrition. The meals should be a combination of good fats, protein a whole grains.
last but not the least is water. Make sure to take litre of water in a day. This will help in fat loss for sure. So now, if you can’t hit the gym, hit HIIT workouts and eat sensibly.
