Students belonging to minorities whose claims were rejected at the time of bank validation during 2014-15, can now correct their account details. The Ministry of Minority Affairs has decided to allow students to edit their account details, in view of the genuine hardships being faced by them. In a communiqué to Department of Minority Welfare of State Governments, it is stated that the option to edit their account detail will be given only once, and it will not be applicable for rejected case (if any) during 2015-16. The letter says that once corrections are made by the students their cases will be reprocessed. This will enable students to apply for scholarship during 2015-16 as renewal case. The provision to correct bank details will be available for such students on the National Scholarship Portal (NSP) September 30, 2015.
The Ministry of Minority Affairs has urged all the State Governments and Union Territory administrations to take appropriate steps towards informing such students in time to avail the benefit.
