To mark the beginning of golden jubilee celebrations of ICSI and on crossing 50,000th membership mark, The Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI) formally adopts the “Satyam Vada, Dharmam Chara —Speak the Truth, abide by the law” as ‘ICSI Motto’ .
Tapan Ray, Secretary, Ministry of Corporate Affairs unveiled The ICSI motto in the August presence of CS Shyam Agrawal, President, ICSI, and CS Dinesh Chandra Arora, Secretary, ICSI.
On this occasion, Tapan Ray congratulated ICSI and urged to take forward it’s great cause of inculcating good corporate governance in the business and economic structure of the country in a big way and further make efforts to educate the masses at the grass root level.
CS Shyam Agrawal, President, ICSI said, “Since inception of ICSI, company secretaries have been ‘Believing’ and ‘living’ this quote from Taittirya Upnishad “Satyam Vada, Dharmam Chara” which means “Speak the truth, abide by the law”. The ICSI has always been striving to uphold the torch of corporate governance profession high in its pursuit of professional excellence,” he added.
