Tiger Shroff and Kriti Sanon of Heropanti spoke about their fondness for dance and how the film is different than other rom coms. By Trisha Mukherjee
Pressure can be harmful in most cases but it seems to be doing wonders to Tiger Shroff.
The actor who is making his Bollywood debut with Heropanti believes that pressure results in better performance and self improvement. Being the son of Jackie Shroff, he realises that people are waiting to see his dad’s reflection in him and he would be judged not as any other newbie in the industry but as a son of a successful actor. “I am sure I would be able to change perceptions over time and will
make the audience realise that as actors my father and I are two different individuals with our own set of strengths and weaknesses. My father has always been my strength and inspiration, but we are completely different on screen. The audience appreciated my father’s work and I would love if they will acknowledge my hard work, too,” said Tiger, while he was in the city for the promotion of his film.
He is introvert and believes in being precise. He didn’t have much to explain on why he chose Heropanti as his debut film.
He said, “With action, comedy, romance and drama, Heropanti is a complete package. It has been an ideal launch pad for me.” Tiger plays the character of Bablu in the film. Bablu is extremely determined about his goals and is a very confident guy, unlike Tiger. “Bablu is an intriguing character. He has a strong sense of what is right and what is wrong,” said Tiger.
Kriti Sanon plays the role of Dimpy in the film. She is from an orthodox family in Haryana. “Dimpy dares to go beyond the restrictions put on her by her family, and dreams big. She is extremely intelligent and street-smart, and at times, a bit manipulative when it comes to getting her job done,” shared Kriti.
The trailers and songs have successfully displayed the exceptional dancing skills of both the actors. While Kriti is a trained Kathak dancer, Tiger’s inspiration lies in the legendary Michael Jackson. “Although I was never too much into classical dancing, but, today I am glad that my mother dragged me to those classes. I have always enjoyed dancing on Bollywood numbers,” said Kriti.
Tiger, who took up serious dancing only in the last two years, credits his dancing skills to his guru. “Apart from my guru, the person who has made me the dancer I am today is Michael Jackson. I have grown up watching and following every single move of the legendary MJ on television and Internet,” said Tiger.
Although neither of the actors revealed their future projects, Kriti expressed her desire to explore all genres of Bollywood. Tiger said, “For the time being, I want to play safe and get accepted.”
