Goodies in new wraps

Christmas is here and Delhi is again going red and green in keeping with the festivities

Demonetisation may have clearly dampened the spirit of Yuletide somewhat but the retail and hospitality sectors are gearing up to make this season memorable and fun-worthy.

Hotels like le Meridien are turning the concept of Christmas on its head. In a tribute to the girl child, its Christmas tree shows two girls in conical hats and pine-green flared dresses holding hands. The hotel recently had a woman Santa Claus unveil its  affordably priced Christmas goodies and gingerbread house. She even introduced us to the 25 house-keeping staff the hotel has trained as part of its skill development initiative and are now awaiting placement in the chain and allied properties.   The message of hope and empowerment was clear.

Hotel Taj Mahal is also adding to the festive spirit with its thoughtfully designed Christmas hampers. Aptly named The Regent, The Opulence, The Decadence and Silver Christmas Tower. And that’s not all, to ring in your festive cheer, the hotel has specially curated Christmas menu to delight its patrons. Also in the revelry of the season is DlF Place, Saket. All geared up with some fantastic activities and exciting offers for its shoppers, DlF will also be hosting a two day long mega festival Celebrating North East which will take place on 17th and 18th December. The festival will showcase North East India’s Textiles and Handicrafts. Also, the mall is decorated with a huge Christmas tree, red houses with snowfall and what not. Bask in the warm glow of carols, dig into your favourite candies, get into the Christmas mood and enjoy the season of love and giving.
